FAQ
To reduce fire risks in your home or business, simply follow the guidance, you should take steps to minimize potential fire hazards, properly store and dispose of flammable materials and create a fire evacuation plan. It’s also important to be aware of fire safety best practices.
Smoke detectors and fire alarms should be tested every 6 months to ensure they can provide early warning in case of a fire, depending on the risk level. Battery backup power should be regularly checked. Testing them regularly helps ensure that they are working correctly.
If there is a fire in your home, the most important thing is to evacuate, to prevent smoke inhalation, call the fire department from a safe location. For a business you must follow the evacuation plan and procedure. Try to suppress the fire with a fire extinguisher only if you’re trained. Do not go back into the building unless instructed to do so.
